Reiki

 What Is Reiki?

Developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui (1865 - 1926), Reiki is a complementary therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional and mental diseases. It uses hand positioning above the Chakra points on the body to realign the 'life force energy' to promote self healing and a state of equilibrium.

What Does Reiki Treatment Entail?

In a typical whole-body Reiki treatment, Bette will request that you wear loose, comfortable clothing. To commence the session, she will instruct you to lie on the table she provides and relax. She will place her hands on or just above you in various positions. Her hands will be kept in these positions for three to five minutes before she moves to the next position. She will give a general coverage of the head, front and back of the torso, knees and feet. A typical session will last 60-90 minutes. As Bette practises the traditional Usui method of Reiki, her treatments are a more localised treatment, focusing on specific requirements in each session.
